Pass Training at the 2004 conference Manager and Driver Training WYTRANS provides manager and driver training for transit agencies, using funds provided by WYDOT and the agencies. WYTRANS offers top-notch, nationally recognized, quality training programs and certifications through twenty-plus instructors around Wyoming.

PASS - Passenger Service and Safety Certification, developed by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and taught by WYTRANS trainers, ensures that drivers have current expertise in passenger assistance techniques and sensitivity skills appropriate for serving persons with disabilities. The objective of PASS Training assist the driver in identifying and sharing personal attitudes and perceptions regarding people who use public transportation.

Safe Driver - A group of WYTRANS Trainers designed this class specifically for transit drivers. The course includes sections on Vehicle Safety; Driver Safety; Traffic Signs; Signals and Road Markings; Safe Driving Tips; Speed Limits; Intersections and Turning; Lane Changes; Special Driving Conditions; Sharing the Road; and Boarding and De-boarding Passengers.

wheelchair handling portion of the 2004 Bus Roadeo Annual Bus Roadeo - Transit Drivers can test their skills annually in a statewide competition that includes a driving course, pre-trip inspection, and wheelchair handling. The state winner receives an all-expense paid trip to compete in the National Bus Roadeo.

Drug and Alcohol Training - Transit drivers are subject to the FTA requirements for drug and alcohol testing. Drivers are required to be tested prior to employment and then randomly each year. Supervisors and drivers receive "Substance Abuse Awareness and Reasonable Suspicion" training annually.

Other Training - Transit drivers are also trained in First Aid, CPR, Worker-Right-To-Know and Bloodborne Pathogens. Drivers who drive 15-passenger vehicles or larger are required to have a Commercial Driver’s License or CDL.
