PASS and Safe Driver Instructor Certification

WYTRANS plans to recertify some of its current trainers as well as certify new trainers in Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) and Safe Driver.  Faye Nash will be the instructor for the session, scheduled for Friday, April 21 in Casper.  The class will take most of the day and the cost is $75.  To be eligible to attend this training, the prospective instructor must have already taken the two-day PASS class and the six-hour Safe Driver class.  To request an application and register for the instructor certification, please contact Debbie Ehlers at 307-266-2524 or <debe@wlcwyo. com>.
WYTRANS currently has 22 trainers, all of whom are certified in PASS.  Twenty of those trainers are also certified Safe Driver Instructors.  Public transit drivers in Wyoming must be certified in PASS and Safe Driver, as well as Bloodborne Pathogens and Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training.
WYTRANS began training drivers in CTAA’s PASS program in 1996.  From 1996 to 2005, over 1,000 drivers have been certified in PASS, and 265 have been recertified.  WYTRANS Safe Driver Training Program was developed by six Wyoming Trainers in 2001.  More than 1,200 drivers have taken the Safe Driver class since 2001.
The WYTRANS Trainers will meet in Riverton during the 2006 Conference, on Wednesday, June 2 at 5:30 p.m.
