2005 Driver of the Year Nominees changing gastric by pass surgery this past September and has lost over 160 pounds in the past year. He spends much of his free time volunteering with the Salvation Army and working with the youth group at his church.
     We have a lot of good drivers, and we appreciate every one of them, but Kevin Trimmer is our driver of the year and much more.

Nominee: Dennis Spangler
Agency: Eppson Center for Seniors (Laramie)

     The staff at the Eppson Center (PATS) Transportation Department in Laramie is proud to nominate Dennis Spangler for Driver of the Year. Dennis has been employed as a driver since January 1998. He has been an exemplary driver since the beginning of his employment. His passengers appreciate the courtesy and assistance he always shows them. He is helpful to the other drivers by his willingness to pick up other passengers when they are behind or have other problems with their busses. He is our “go to” guy when needed. His prompt and courteous manner makes him stand out.
     Dennis is a member of the transportation committee, and the members of that committee appreciate his knowledge and candor. They look to him for his input and insight concerning any topics about the system. His knowledge of the clientele and any potential problems they may have relating to their transportation definitely benefit the committee.
     Dennis has also graciously accepted the assignment of training officer, carrying the responsibility of training all new drivers. His knowledge of the needs of passengers, the street system, as well as traffic conditions in adverse weather, is a definite plus in our ability to perform our mission. His willingness to help other drivers and dispatchers has made him a “legend.” Please consider Dennis for this wonderful award-he is most deserving.

Nominee: Sherry Ryno

     I would like to nominate Sherry Ryno for the WYTRANS Driver of the Year. She has been employed at the Campbell County Senior Center for one year. She is a joy to work with and an excellent team player! She is always willing to go the extra mile. Whenever we are in a tight pinch, we know we can count on Sherry to jump right in and with a smile to boot!
     Sherry is relatively new to the transportation scene and has taken to it like duck to water! She is so good with our clients that they are always asking for her to be their driver. I wish we could clone her and her sunny disposition! I feel she deserves recognition for a job well done!

Nominee: Kevin Trimmer
Agency: Cheyenne Transit Program

     Kevin Trimmer has been one of Cheyenne Tranist System's best employees for over 12 years, dispatching the first six years of his career and driving a bus the past six. With his kind demeanor and years of experience, Kevin has come to be known as a number-one problem solver for our drivers, passengers, and CTP administrators. He is, in fact, so proficient at problem solving he also serves as our driver scheduler and has earned the title Driver Outreach Coordinator (DOC), serving to keep the lines of communications flowing both ways from the drivers to the office. Kevin is so devoted to problem solving he keeps CTP radio channel tuned into his personal vehicle. That is dedicated!
     Kevin has earned annual accident-free awards every single year of his driving career but one. Kevin often willingly helps out in dispatch, at the bus barn, in the administrative offices, at the transfer station, or wherever he is called. Although he is called upon for other services, Kevin still tries to maintain two to three days each week devoting his time (almost) to full-time driving.
